Tales of the Abyss

OMG, I love this game. It is pure awesomeness, in it's perfection. I love tales games in general, i think they are better than the Final Fantasy series cause of the action battle system. But damn, this part is even better than i would have ever imagined. The battle system is perfect, the characters a dream, pro- and antagonists, the music is great and the gameplay and fun is just godly. The graphics are top, you can't make it better on the ps2 I think. Only downpart are the loadings sometimes. But when you play this piece of awesomness you don't care about that^^.

Story/Plot:

The story changes like 2 or 3 times during the game. You think it's over, but the real deal begins. First you start training in your mansion with Luke and his master Van. You get kidnapped, end up in the enemys teritorry and meet some important personalitys. You are brought back thanks to your master, and you leave to a city to help them with a miasma problem. But Van abuses your power, you destroy a city by "mistake", all blame you for it and you are left alone in the deep qulypoth (underworld). After some thinking you go back on the surface, meet your friends again, and hear of Vans true whereabouts, so you try to stop him by using this power that has been abused by him earlier. You get him, defeat him, stop his plan for now and have gods voice in you all of a sudden. Now you realize that Van is alive, and you have to find a new power to defeat him and his threath on the world. Also time by time you learn about your own existence, and if it's a worthy one or not. I think thats very spoilerfree, please buy it to get a full graps of it, it's definitely worth it.

Graphics:

Like I said, they can't be done better on the ps2. The fights run so good and smooth, and the world map and city/dungeon maps make no difference. The cutscenes are animes, so you can't complain about graphics here, only about style^^.(which is great in my opinion)

Sound:

The soundtrack has a big range, it has tons of deep, tons of happy and funny and tons of cool tracks. Many battlethemes that change during the process and chapters also make the fights always interesting. A must have OST for everyone who like game soundtracks.

My rating: 11/10  ;P

Cheats/Codes

- well, there are many costumes in this game, and many minigames as well. have fun finding them, but many are done during the story though.

- when you beat the game, you can start a new game + with extras that you can purchase in the grade shop that appears after you load the saved new game + file. In this shop you can buy stuff like keeping your skills or capacity cores, or have 10x more exp won from each enemy. with the 10x exp you get on lvl 200 without serious leveling, so maybe it's too fast for some people.

- from the second playthrough ( means on your new game +) a new dungeon is availabable. It's available after a quest, but I can't remember the name of it now, it was the one with a man and his dog.
